Postdoctoral Position (Quantum Worldviews Project)

The Ian Ramsey Centre for Science and Religion at Oxford's Faculty of Theology and Religion is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher for the new Quantum Worldviews Project.

This exciting interdisciplinary project will examine "quantum religion" as a cultural phenomenon, exploring how quantum mechanics has inspired religious and philosophical worldviews throughout history.

Key Details:

• Details: Full-time, fixed-term until January 2029

• Salary: £39,424-£42,794 per annum (Grade 7)

• Location: Based at the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities, Oxford

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct original research on historical and theological dimensions of quantum religion
• Collaborate on publications and conference presentations
• Develop educational materials for high schools
• Work with interdisciplinary team of physicists, theologians, philosophers, and social scientists

Essential Requirements:

• PhD/DPhil (or near completion) in science and religion, theology, religious studies, history/philosophy of science, or related field
• Strong research and publication track record
• Excellent communication skills
